NSU Pharmacy Student Wins Publix Escape to Miami Triathlon

Isabel Olivas

Isabel Olivas

Isabel Olivas, a student in NSU’s College of Pharmacy, ran in the Publix Escape to Miami Triathlon in September. Olivas, 28, runs in triathlons for fun, it has been a hobby for her, and is one in which she has proved to be successful.

For the past four years Olivas has owned the female division of the Olympic distance and in her fifth year did it again. She crashed her way through the finish line with a total time of 2:21:07, and she landed on the ground full of excitement, pain and utterly exhausted.

“I always finish on the floor,” Olivas said. “There is a lot of good competition here in Miami. I stay local, I enjoy it — I love it. It is just a hobby for me, so I am very happy to be here.”
