NSU Pharmacy Student Society Recognized by American Society of Health-System Pharmacy
NSU’s College of Pharmacy’s (COP) Student Societies of Health-System Pharmacy (SSHPs) was awarded the 2010 – 2011 Official Recognition from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP) for a third consecutive year. The ASHP offers the opportunity of official recognition to SSHPs nationwide that promote membership in local, state, and national health-system organizations; stimulate interest in health-system pharmacy careers; and encourage career development and professionalism among students with aspirations of careers in health-system pharmacy.
Additionally, criteria that led to the NSU COP ASHP-SSHP recognition included successful efforts throughout the year in recruiting members for the ASHP; participating in the administration of the ASHP Clinical Skills Competition at the NSU COP; representing the COP in the national competition at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting; coordinating events featuring speakers representing health-system practice with at least one informational session on residency training; and participating in at least one ASHP – related leadership project. This official recognition serves as the completion of the “triad” relationship between ASHP, the ASHP state affiliate organization, and the SSHP; as well as providing a direct relationship between ASHP and the SSHP. Congratulations to NSU COP Student Society of Health System Pharmacy!
