NSU Palm Beach Campus Supports Pediatric Cancer Awareness

(L to R) Rolex Jean, George Dungee, Todd King, Ph.D., Caeden King, Seth Hendrix, Juan Colon Ramos, and Bruce Campbell participated in the “Shave your hair if you dare” challenge.

NSU’s Palm Beach Campus held a fundraiser to support Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST), research, and organizations that support families with cancer during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month (September). NSU raised more than $1,100 dollars to support causes related to children’s cancer, including POST, National Brain Tumor Society, Children’s Oncology Group, Live Like Bella, and Friends Fore Michael.

Todd King, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Respiratory Therapy Program, envisioned the fundraiser as a way to raise awareness and to give back to the non-profits that help so many people. The event started with a “Shave Your Hair if you Dare” challenge and was followed by a hot dog and burger grilling in which donations were accepted.
