Pride Bite – NSU Opens Store Front in Junior Achievement World Finance Park
NSU is part of the world of Junior Achievement (JA) of South Florida. The university has a 600 square foot store front in the Patten Family Foundation Finance Park in which Junior Achievement World is housed.
Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization that provides a series of business, economic and life-skills programs which enhance the education of young people. The organization is committed to “experiential learning,” and programs span grades K-12, with age-appropriate curricula. When students visit they enter the world of business and are challenged to manage an assigned identity that includes marital status, number of children, annual income, education attained and job type. They prepare budgets (to include stock investment) and visit vendors to purchase housing, food, furniture, insurance, education, automobiles, and more.
The NSU store front is one of the higher education options from which students may choose. Other store fronts in the JA World Finance Park include Wells Fargo Bank, AutoNation, Broward Health, State Farm Insurance, AT&T, FPL and City Furniture, among others.
