NSU offers American Red Cross Certification Classes
Learn skills that can save a life! NSU Aquatics is offering American Red Cross Certified courses in CPR/First Aid/AED and Lifeguard courses. Why not expand your skills necessary to provide basic care for injuries and breathing and cardiac emergencies? Various classes offered. Sign up at the RecPlex service desk. Class details:
CPR/AED/First Aid for Lay Responder*
This course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for breathing emergencies, perform CPR, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illness until advanced medical
personnel arrive.
Lifeguard Training
This course is designed to teach skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services take over.
May Class
Fri., May 15, 5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
Sat., May 16, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
NSU Students, Faculty, Staff Members, and Alumni: $175
General Public: $250
* Must be registered 48 hours before class time.
All CPR/AED/First Aid courses will be delivered in the American Red Cross “Blended Learning” format in which participants will be taught the basic information through a web based presentation. After completing the online portion successfully participants will then attend the skill training sessions led by an American Red Cross certified instructor.
