Sandra Winkler, Ph.D., OTR/L, assistant professor of occupational therapy at NSU’s College of Health Care Sciences, presented her research at the 10th International Conference on Disability, Virtual Reality and Associated Technologies (ICDVRAT) at Gothenburg University in Gothenberg, Sweden last fall. The presentation was titled “Creating a Self-Management Intervention in SecondLife® Virtual World.” This project is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Grant #R24HS022021. The ICDVRAT is sponsored by the International Society for Virtual Rehabilitation (ISVR), a society for professionals that provides a multidisciplinary forum for engineers, scientists and clinicians who are interested in employing new technologies for physical, psychological, cognitive, and social rehabilitation applications. The ICDVRAT and the ISVR conferences are held on alternate years. The 2015 ISVR will be held in Valencia, Spain in partnership with the International Conference on Recent Advances in Neurorehabilitation (ICRAN 2015) and International Neurorehabilitation Symposium (INRS 2015).The next ICDVRAT conference will be in San Diego in 2016.
