NSU observes Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week, 2016
Law enforcement officers are our first call when we feel threatened or in danger. In recognition of the sacrifices and public service that law enforcement officers provide on a daily basis, President Obama has proclaimed May 15 of every year to be “Peace Officers Memorial Day” and the week in which it falls (May 15 – 21) as Police Week.
Annually on May 15, American flags will be flown at half staff in honor of peace officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
