NSU Native Narrows Wildflower Garden Certified As Wildlife Habitat
Recently, ten members of the NSU Nature Club and 20 other volunteers planted the NSU Native Narrows Wildflower Garden to the north of the library quad. A lot of hard work and sweat went into creating this habitat and now that hard work has earned its reward! This summer the garden received two prestigious recognitions.
The National Wildlife Foundation has certified the garden as a wildlife habitat. The Florida Wildflower Foundation has recognized it as a Native Wildflower Garden. Guided by its faculty advisor, Halmos faculty member Paul Arena, Ph.D., the student Nature Club developed the garden plan. The Nature Club, with the assistance of NSU facilities management, will maintain this student initiative garden throughout the year. Members of NSU are encouraged to visit the garden and observe it change over the seasons.
