NSU President and CEO George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., recently announced the appointment of Robin Supler, J.D., as Vice President for Compliance and Chief Integrity Officer. In this role, Supler is responsible for the strategic management and oversight of compliance responsibilities relating to the provision of health care services, safeguarding patient privacy and the conduct of research and sponsored programs.
Additionally, Supler is the chief privacy officer for the NSU Health Care Centers, overseeing activities related to the privacy of patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the NSU Health Care Centers privacy policies. She also serves as the privacy liaison to NSU’s Institutional Review Board for human subject research.
“Robin is an individual with unquestionable character and integrity,” said Hanbury. “Her experience and understanding of local, state and federal laws and regulations and expertise in her field will help NSU expand our reach as a clinical health care provider and become a research institution of national prominence.”
Supler has served as director of NSU’s Office of Compliance since 1999, where she provided subject matter expertise and leadership in the development, implementation and administration of NSU’s Compliance Plan and its comprehensive Health Care Center Compliance Program.
Supler’s prior experience includes counseling health care providers in compliance and fraud and abuse matters as a private consultant and serving as a compliance liaison/risk manager for Memorial Healthcare System’s Medical Management Services Organization in Broward County, Fla., and a litigation specialist at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL.
Supler received both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Miami.
