NSU Names Head Women’s Tennis Coach

1920x1080_Award_71Nova Southeastern University Director of Athletics Michael Mominey has announced that Doug Neagle will take over as the head coach for NSU women’s tennis. Neagle takes over the Sharks women’s tennis program after spending the last seven seasons as the women’s tennis head coach at Towson University.

“We welcome Doug Neagle to NSU and the Sharks family,” Mominey said. “There is no doubt that he is the right leader for our women’s tennis program who will teach, train and mentor our tennis student-athletes within the mission of our department and our university. Under Coach Neagle’s leadership, I believe the women’s tennis program will continue to build upon past success and become one of the nation’s elite programs, competing for championships on a consistent basis.”

A seasoned coaching veteran at various levels, Neagle brings in nearly 20 years of experience to the NSU women’s tennis program. He has spent the last seven as the head coach for Towson Tigers women’s tennis where he has led the program to 78 victories, five winning seasons and six seasons with at least 10 or more wins. In 2016, Neagle led his team to a 13-9 overall record and to the Colonial Athletic Association tournament quarterfinals. Two of his players, Nicole Shakhnazarova and Lucy Williams, both earned All-CAA honors marking it the first time since joining the CAA two have earned all-conference honors in the same season.
