NSU Medical Resident Appointed to National Council

Robert Hasty, D.O., with Maryanne Samuel, D.O., first-year resident at the NSU-COM Palmetto General Hospital Internal Medicine Residency.

Maryanne Samuel, D.O., first-year resident at the NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Palmetto General Hospital Internal Medicine Residency, has been appointed to represent all osteopathic internal medicine residents and fellows on the Council of Education and Evaluation for the American College of Osteopathic Internists. The council oversees all osteopathic internal medicine residency and fellowship programs nationally. Samuel, who will be the only resident representative on the council, has been appointed to the 10 member council for a 2-year term.

Robert Hasty, D.O., FACOI, director of NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Internal Medicine Residency Program at Palmetto General Hospital said, “I am thrilled that Dr. Samuel has been appointed to represent residents nationally on the council. I know that she will do an excellent job to help the council ensure that we have the highest quality training programs. I think this is a perfect example where the College of Osteopathic Medicine is training the next generation of physician leaders.” Hasty also serves on the council.
