NSU Marketing Council 8.7.14 v2

Marketing and communication professionals from across the university met to discuss strategies for the upcoming school year.

After a number of years on hiatus, marketing and communication professionals from across the university attended a university-wide marketing meeting on Thursday, August 7 to kick off the 2014-15 school year.

On the docket at the initial meeting:

• A representative from the university’s advertising and marketing agency of record, Fahlgren Mortine, provided an overview of the agency’s capabilities and current partnerships with NSU;
• Overview of the university’s media plan for the 2015 fiscal year;
• Overview of NSU’s brand strategy that will be making its internal debut this fall, with an expected external launch of winter/spring 2015;
• Publications offered to host Graphic Identity Standards Seminars for units that would like a refresher on best practices for logo and other identity usage;
• Update on the migration of the website into the new look and feel; and
• Sneak preview of NSU’s new Social Media Strategy & Guidelines, which will be shared in the coming months

The group will meet every two months to learn what is new across the university, share professional best practices, network with colleagues and work toward creating a more unified marketing communications program at NSU. Led by the Office of University Relations, the committee includes professionals from nearly every college and center across campus, including the Huizenga Business School, Regional Campuses, Graduate School of Computer Information Sciences, Undergraduate Admissions, Fischler School of Education, Law Center, Division of Applied and Interdisciplinary Studies, Oceanographic Center, Nursing, Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, Health Professions Division, University School, Mailman Segal Center, NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, Libraries, Publications, Athletics, Public Affairs, Student Affairs, Internal Communications, and Advancement.
