NSU Lifeguards Place 2nd in Local Lifeguard Competition
NSU Campus Recreation lifeguard staff
In July members of the Campus Recreation lifeguard staff competed in the Annual YMCA of Broward County Lifeguard Competition at the YMCA Aquatic Center of Pembroke Pines. The competition tested team’s abilities to recognize, respond and communicate in emergency situations through seven scenarios. Staff members Kevin Callanan, Hope Marshall, Erica Rayter and Edgar Roque represented NSU and Campus Recreation honorably placing 2nd out of 8 teams after battling in through a tie breaker with YMCA of Pembroke Pines. This marked the first time Campus Recreation lifeguard staff had competed in a lifesaving skills competition.
