Third NSU Leadership Class: Managing Conflict and Change
The third Leadership class on “Managing Conflict and Change” was recently conducted by Neil Katz, Ph.D., professor and chairperson of the Graduate Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Katz taught participants the power of the reframing experience to enrich and broaden a leader’s perspective using a theory-to-practice methodology.
A Task Force appointed by the University created a training curriculum to develop leaders who will help propel NSU toward premiere status among peers in higher education. The ultimate goal of the program is to train supervisors in skills that will assist NSU achieve Vision 2020.
The modules include Legal Employment Issues & Management Philosophy/Expectations,” “Communication Skills,” “Managing Conflict/Change,” “Measurement/Project Management,” and “Leadership Visioning & Planning,” following the first workshop. Content specialists for each module have been selected from within NSU’s extensive cadre of experts.
