NSU Kicks off Black History Month with African Presence Opening Reception

Members of The Young Contemporary Dance Theatre

NSU’s celebration of Black History began with the opening reception of the 14th Annual African Presence Art Exhibition, “Afrotopia: Art and the Politics of Representation,” which was held in the Rick Case Arena of the Don Taft University Center.

The evening included giveaways, refreshments, music entertainment by the Riff Tides, NSU’s Acapella group, and an energetic performance by The Young Contemporary Dance Theatre, under the artistic direction of choreographer Traci Young-Bryon.
