NSU Introduces New Transfer Credit Equivalency Look-Up Tool for Prospective Undergraduate Students
Figuring out whether an undergraduate course taken at another institution will transfer to Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has recently become a whole lot easier. Through a partnership with higher education technology company CollegeSource, Inc., NSU now has an online look-up tool that allows students to view NSU course equivalencies for credits earned at other accredited institutions.
The Transfer Credit System contains more than 100,000 NSU course equivalencies from regionally accredited institutions across the United States. In addition, students may email Transfer Evaluation Services (TES) at esstes@nova.edu if they are unable to locate a course equivalency in the system. “This tool will significantly enhance transfer enrollment initiatives,” says Brian Hodge, Ed.D., Director of Student Systems and Special Projects with Enrollment and Student Services (ESS). “Let’s say a student has taken ENC 1101 “Composition I” at Broward College. By accessing the new Transfer Credit System, the student can immediately know that NSU will consider that course equivalent to the COMP 1500 “College Writing” class. To have this information so easily available, is a tremendous benefit for our prospective students looking to transfer to NSU,“ explains Dr. Hodge.
The university has also begun to streamline the processes for the transfer of credit on the graduate, doctoral, and professional levels. Effective Fall 2016, Provost Ralph Rogers has approved the Transfer Credit for Graduate and Professional Programs Policy which outlines the processes by which graduate students may transfer credit.
