Free dental services program in Miramar almost at capacity (Sun-Sentinel)
A new dental services program in Miramar is already almost at capacity. The free program is a partnership between the city and Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dental Medicine. Through the program, NSU dentists supervise students in providing services such as oral exams, dental cleanings and fluoride treatments.
Doctors In South Florida Train Iraqi Surgeons (WPLG Local 10)
Doctors at a South Florida university trained surgeons in Iraq in lifesaving techniques without ever leaving the school’s Davie campus on Wednesday. Nova Southeastern University partnered with the American Heart Association to guide 12 doctors in Baghdad, Iraq, through a pediatric life support course.

Violent crime on the increase in Broward schools (Sun-Sentinel)
Violent crimes are becoming more prevalent on Broward’s public school campuses, with six cases reported last year for every 1,000 students, newly released figures show. “School resource officers do reduce violence among students in schools,” said Michael Dale, a law professor at Nova Southeastern University, who specializes in juvenile law.
