NSU hosts Annual Undergraduate Blitz in the Bahamas

NSU’s Bahamas SEC held its Annual Blitz in the Bahamas from November 14 – 17, 2012.  This four-day blitz included their Annual Breakfast and Information Session for school guidance counselors which was held on Nov. 14.  The Counselors were provided with information on programs, admissions, residential, clubs, scholarships, and dual admission to prepare them for their counseling role with USA college-bound high school students.

On Nov.14-16, NSU participated in the Bahamas annual college fair and Shane Johnson, the recruiter for NSU’s Undergraduate Admissions made his annual trip to showcase NSU’s programs, services, and student related activities and facilities to the Bahamian market. The NSU recruiter also had the opportunity to attend the reception and to speak with the Hon. Minister of Education, Science & Technology of the Bahamas. During this period, he was able to visit several private high schools to speak with them about NSU.

On November 17, Shane facilitated a meeting at the NSU Bahamas SEC for “high fliers’ students who had a minimum GPA of 3.0.

In the New Year, Shane will travel to selected family Islands along with members of the Bahamas Guidance Counseling department of the Ministry of Education in the Bahamas.

These events are organized and coordinated through close collaboration between the director of NSU’s Bahamas SEC, Juliett Reid, and the UGA Director of recruitment Mary Friel.
