NSU hosts 15th Annual Faculty Reception

The NSU Libraries recently hosted its 15th Annual Faculty Reception to show appreciation to the faculty for their contributions to NSU. Lydia Acosta, Vice President for Information Services and University Librarian, kicked-off the event which helps faculty from across all colleges to get to know each other.
This year’s event boasted its largest attendance of faculty, who were treated once again to special drinks poured by the Red Vest Society, a group of faculty members who like to shake and stir! President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., along with Provost and Executive Vice President, Ralph Rogers, Ph.D., capped off the evening by honoring and recognizing the 2015-16 NSU Professors of the Year.
Those receiving honors as 2015-16 NSU Professors of the Year Included:
- David Boesler, D.O., M.S., College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Laurie Dringus, Ph.D., College of Engineering and Computing
- Appu Rathinavelu, Ph.D., College of Pharmacy
- Lenore E. Walker, Ph.D.,Psy.D., College of Psychology
- David Ross, Ed.D., Abraham S. Fischler College of Education
- Professor Joel Mintz, Shepard Broad College of Law
- John Sennetti, Ph.D., Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship
- Robert Seltzer, DDS., College of Dental Medicine
- Nicole Patterson, O.D., M.S., FAAO., College of Optometry
- Marcia Derby-Davis, Ph.D., College of Nursing
- Appu Rathinavelu, Ph.D., College of Pharmacy also received the President’s Distinguished Professor Award of Excellence which recognizes superior professional achievement and encourages the ongoing pursuit of excellence. This award is conferred upon a faculty member that has achieved national and/or international prominence and earned a distinguished reputation through significant contributions to research and scholarship and exceptional instruction.
