NSU to Host Town Hall Discussion on the Tea Party’s Influence on the 2010 Mid-Term Elections, Oct. 27

Recalling the spirit that led the revolt surrounding the Boston Tea Party, the current Tea Party is quickly progressing beyond a loosely organized movement to a becoming a major force of change in this year’s mid-term elections. Join us as we discuss their effect on South Florida’s elections and answer your questions regarding the November mid-term elections.

NSU will host a Town Hall discussion Wed., Oct 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alvin Sherman Library 2nd Floor Gallery, doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The panelists include:

  • Nan Rich, Incoming Leader for the Florida Senate Democratic Caucus, and “Democrat of the Year” as named by the Broward Democratic Party
  • Jack Furnari, Boca Raton based GOP conservative activist
  • Charles Zelden, Ph.D., NSU professor of History and Legal Studies
  • Gary Gershman, Ph.D., J.D., NSU professor of History and Legal Studies
  • Timothy Dixon, J.D., NSU associate professor and History Major Chair.

Antonio (Tony) Fins, Editor, Sun-Sentinel editorial page will moderate the panel. This event is free, open to the NSU community and the public, and will include a question and answer session.
