NSU to Host Pain Management and Controlled Substance Workshop
NSU will be hosting a pain management and controlled substance workshop on June 5 that will offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits to participants. The workshop, offered by LorSand CME, LLC, is titled “Pain Medicine and Controlled Substances: Risk Management and Best Practices.” It will be held at the Steele Auditorium inside the Terry Building at NSU’s Health Professions Division.
The workshop is a novel CME event, endorsed by the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, which will offer health care providers needed pain management medical education, legal and Drug Enforcement Administration updates, as well as compliance and risk management strategies that will keep them in the forefront of their specialty. The diseases of pain and addiction will be discussed and all participants will be provided a practice risk management protocol for the assessment and management of patients who receive controlled substances for pain.
LorSand is offering students, faculty, and staff a discounted rate of $75 to participate. A valid NSU identification card is required to receive the discount. To register, please visit www.LorSandCME.com under “Register” tab, select “student registration rate.” For more information, please contact Linda Knapp at 800 – 805-1436 or knapp@LorSandCME.com.
