NSU to Host Global Diversity Summit, Nov. 18-19
NSU will host an engaging summit on expanding diversity and creating a more peaceful world. The 6th Annual Diversity Summit will be held on Nov. 18 & 19 at the Carl DeSantis Building on NSU’s main campus. This year’s theme is “’Peacing’ it Together: Uniting leaders for a better world.”
Organized by the South Florida Diversity Alliance, this event will bring together high school and college students, professors, business and community members, and faith leaders to discuss hot-button social issues that impact Americans.
Workshops include: Leadership for a Global Society; Fair Housing; Peaceful Relationships; Workers’ Rights are Human Rights; Hate Crimes; Diverse Encounters; Language and Diversity; Racial Issues in Sports; Straight Parents with Gay Kids; Rating Barack Obama on Diversity and Social Justice; and more.
The summit will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. It is FREE for NSU students, faculty and staff.
