NSU to hold Candlelight Vigil in Response to Japan Earthquake, Mar. 31
In response to the earthquake and devastating tsunami in Japan, NSU is responding to aid relief efforts in the country and providing assistance for our students and their families and friends who have been affected.
A candlelight vigil is being held Thursday, Mar. 31, 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the Gold Circle Lake. Students, faculty and staff will share poems, songs and hear stories from NSU Japanese students who were affected by the earthquake. Monetary donations will be collected at the vigil and donated to the Relief Fund at the Japanese Consulate.
NSU, through its Office of International Affairs and the Nova International Student Association (NISA) and other student led organizations and faculty on campus, is working closely with the Consulate General of Japan in Miami to coordinate relief efforts.
NSU has set up a website to receive monetary donations online. To donate , visit the NSU home page and click on Japan Relief Fund, or go to https://www.nova.edu/giving/ simply click on the “Gift Area” drop down box and select Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
