NSU Health Professions Division Library joins efforts with the National Library of Medicine

Nova Southeastern University’s Health Professions Division Library (HPD Library) has joined with medical libraries across the nation to participate in the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) MedPrint program to preserve print serials.

The HPD Library is one of the first 20 medical libraries to make this important commitment ensuring that the NSU HPD Library is recognized as a leader in the field of medical literature preservation.

This agreement will help preserve medical journals for many years to come and make them available to medical libraries around the nation. It includes 25 years of preservation for 79 of its 814 print journal titles.

The HPD Library is a designated Regional Resource Library for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine and has been dedicated to providing high quality health information resources.

In the Spring of 2011, a representative from NSU’s HPD Library participated in a Print Retention Task Force that helped the NLM form the MedPrint – Medical Serials Print Preservation Program.

For more information, contact the HPD Library at (954) 262-3106.
