NSU Forum Launches Inaugural Episode
Welcome to the NSU Forum, a video magazine that will show a number of behind-the-scenes excursions at NSU. The episodes will explore important issues affecting South Florida, the state, and beyond. Through its research, academics, and community outreach, NSU is tackling these issues head on. Hosted by Larry A. Calderon, Ed.D., NSU vice president for community and governmental relations, the NSU Forum begins its inaugural episode at NSU’s Oceanographic Center in Dania Beach.
There, the university is using a $15 million federal grant to build America’s largest coral reef research center, the 86,000-square-foot Center for Excellence for Coral Reef Ecosystems Science Research Facility. At a cost of $30 million, this will be the premiere coral reef research facility in the Western Hemisphere. The episode will also feature Oceanographic Center researchers conducting research on the BP oil spill, a welcome message from NSU Chancellor Ray Ferrero Jr, J.D., and much more.
