NSU Finishes Ninth in Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings

Coming off winning the 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Rowing National Championship less than a week ago, the

Nova Southeastern University athletic department posted their highest-ever finish in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings. The Sharks athletic programs accumulated 552.5 points throughout 2012-13 to finish ninth out of 300 Division II institutions, 254 of which were ranked in the final standings.

“Finishing in the top-10 of the Director’s Cup is a tremendous accomplishment and is shared amongst the entire staff and all of our student-athletes,” Director of Athletics Michael Mominey said. “Considering that we have only been an NCAA institution for 11 years, this recognition is a testament to the executive administration’s vision, the hard work of the coaches and support staff, and certainly the athletic prowess of the student-athletes. This award is truly the measure of athletic success of all sponsored sports in a given academic year and is recognized as such across the NCAA in all three divisions. This is certainly another point of pride that continues to serve as the pillar of building leaders here at NSU.” Complete Release.
