NSU Faculty Participate in Google Preservice Computational Thinking Logistics Meeting

Professor Jan Yates

Fischler School of Education program professor Jan Yates recently participated in a meeting with national and international Computer Science and Computer Science Education faculty and Goggle staff to discuss Computational Thinking and preservice education programs. The meeting was held at Google’s Mountain View, California, campus where participants discussed problem-solving strategies in the preservice curriculum for K-12 classrooms. For her contribution, Jan was invited to present on How Do Teacher Education Programs Work?, in which she described requirements for NSU’s state-approved (Florida and Nevada) and nationally-accredited (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education/Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) programs in Computer Science Education (M.S. and Ed.S.).
