NSU Disaster Preparedness Institute to Promote National Preparedness Month
Nova Southeastern University’s Institute for Disaster and Emergency Preparedness (IDEP) will have informational booths across campus to promote National Preparedness Month in September. The participants of this campaign include thousands of national, regional, state and local organizations that are members of the 2011 National Preparedness Month Coalition. The Coalition Members have pledged to provide information, host events and/or sponsor activities for their customers, members, employees, stakeholders and communities throughout the month of September.
IDEP, which is a part of NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, will have informational booths to teach NSU students, faculty, and staff have to be prepared for natural and man-made disasters such as hurricanes, terrorist attacks, flooding, etc. There will also be contests to see which groups of students are most prepared.
