The Nova Southeastern University men’s and women’s cross country teams have received their south-regional rankings from the USTFCCCA Preseason Poll. Then men are picked to finish third and the women are picked to finish seventh.

On the men’s side, Lee of Tennessee sits atop the regional rankings with Alabama-Huntsville right behind for second. Fellow SSC team Florida Southern sits fourth while reigning regional champions, Saint Leo, were picked fifth.

On the women’s side, Tampa was picked to win its sixth-consecutive regional championship with Saint Leo finishing as the runner-up. The Sharks will also be chasing No. 3 Lee of Tennessee, No. 4 Union of Tennessee, No. 5 North Alabama and No. 6 Alabama-Huntsville.

In 2015, the men’s team edged out Alabama-Huntsville for the third spot to send the team to the National Championship. The women’s team finished ninth with Anabel Knoll (So. Ingolstadt, Germany) being the only female runner representing NSU at the National Championship.

The Sharks will begin their 2016 season this Saturday at Florida Atlantic University.
