NSU to Welcome Former U.S. Congressmen to Campus, Feb. 18
As part of the national Congress to Campus program, NSU will welcome to campus former U.S. Congressmen, who will speak about their paths to public office and the increased polarization in politics. These events are free and open to all NSU students.

A Discussion with Glen Browder, Ph.D. (D-AL, 1989–1996) and Tom Ewing, J.D. (R-IL, 1991–2000)

Browder and Ewing will discuss their respective journeys to the U.S. House of Representatives and their motivations for this career path. The former Representatives will also discuss how they viewed their time in Washington, D.C., and answer questions about public service. Students are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion. Lunch will be provided.

In this debate-style discussion, Browder and Ewing will explore how the U.S. Congress has become increasingly fragmented and polarized. They will discuss what has changed in the nation’s governing institutions and each offer possible strategies for improving the current situation. All students are encouraged to attend this discussion.
