NSU Community Invited to Participate in Free Workshop Series in Music Production, April 27
Students, faculty, and staff interested in learning the foundations of music production and scoring (composing) original music for film and media are invited to participate in a free workshop series on NSU’s main campus. Knowledge of music theory is helpful, but not required.
Music Composition Workshop Series

Mondays | 5:00–6:00 p.m.
Don Taft University Center | Room 356
The workshop will be taught by composer/artist Jessica Muñiz-Collado, M.F.A., an adjunct faculty member at the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences.
Topics of discussion include:
- MIDI technology
- audio recording
- basic principles of mixing/mastering and software plug-ins
- PreSonus: StudioOne, GarageBand, Apple Logic, and ProTools software
- using sound samples and loops
- purchasing recording gear
- scoring/spotting to picture
- songwriting
