NSU-COM Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice to Host IPE Day 2015, Feb. 17

NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice (CIPEP) will host the first NSU Interprofessional (IPE) Day at 12-4 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2015. The goal of this event is to bring together students from two or more professions at NSU in order for them to learn about, from and with each other in order to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes. This will be a half day of interactive concurrent interprofessional sessions available to all HPD students and related health profession programs including, clinical psychology, speech-language-pathology, health law and athletic training.

Concurrent sessions will include a blend of interprofessional theory and interactive case study reviews, including simulation experiences that address the core competencies of interprofessional collaborative practice: 1) Values/Ethics for interprofessional practice, 2) Roles/Responsibilities, 3) Interprofessional Communication, and 4) Teams and Teamwork.

IPE Day is a voluntary interprofessional collaborative opportunity for students and faculty-all student participants will receive a certificate of participation.

If you are interested in being a part of this worthwhile event in any capacity, contact the CIPEP at ipe@nova.edu.
