NSU College of Pharmacy Alumna Named Pharmacist of the Year
The Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP) named Deborah Brown, M.S., Pharm.D. C.Ph., NSU College of Pharmacy alumni, Class of 2000, as the Florida pharmacist of the year at the society’s 44th annual meeting in Orlando in July.
Brown was awarded the “2010 Pharmacist of the Year” award for her significant contributions to the practice of pharmacy in Florida as well as her outstanding performance and achievements throughout her pharmacy career. FSHP presented her with a plaque and pin at a dinner ceremony on July 29 that kicked off the four-day meeting. The FSHP pharmacist of the year award, which is presented annually to a Florida pharmacist who is recognized for outstanding career performance and achievements, is selected by a special committee of past recipients.
Brown is the marketing director of pharmacy for Florida and Louisiana for the Pharmacy Solutions business. She is responsible for the pharmacy operations of four acute care hospitals. Brown has worked for Cardinal Health for 15 years and has previously served as FSHP president and as a board member. She currently serves as the society’s treasurer.
