NSU College of Pharmacy and Albertson’s Pharmacy Host Community Health Fair
The brothers of Phi Delta Chi from NSU’s College of Pharmacy (COP), and Albertson’s Pharmacy in Oakland Park collaborated on Apr. 3 to host a community health fair providing educational materials and free services to attendees. Phi Delta Chi provided services, including diabetes, asthma, blood pressure screenings, and more, while Albertson’s provided informational material, free glucometers, pill boxes, and first aid kits. Additionally, Richard Sprys, C.Ph., R.Ph., from Albertson’s pharmacy provided attendees with H1N1 immunizations. Over 75 people were screened, which included approximately 33 immunizations. Many of the participants were impressed with the knowledge and friendliness of the pharmacists and students, including Albertson’s pharmacist, Robin Weinstock, R.Ph., who positively commented on the students’ professionalism and enthusiasm.
