Anastasios Lymperopoulos, B.Pharm., M.Sc., Ph.D., F.A.H.A., F.E.S.C., associate professor, NSU’s College of Pharmacy, received a best poster presentation award for his study titled: “Cardiac beta-arrestin2 gene transfer stimulates cardiac function in heart failure via SERCA2a potentiation,” which he presented at the recent Annual Scientific Meeting of the prestigious American College of Cardiology in Chicago on April 2, 2016. This work is a collaboration of Lymperopoulos`s team with the teams of X.P. Huang, M.D., Ph.D., of Florida Atlantic University, and Walter Koch, Ph.D. team at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Importantly, several student assistants working in Lymperopoulos`s laboratory for the Study of Neurohormonal Control of the Circulation at NSU’s College of Pharmacy were involved in this work and participated as co-authors in this poster, including two Pharm.D. and three D.O. students. This award showcases not only the high quality of research being conducted at NSU by its faculty, but also that a significant number of undergraduate and graduate students are actively involved and trained in this high quality research.
