NSU College of Pharmacy Student Selected to Attend Advocacy Event in Nation’s Capital
Yamel Yanez, doctoral candidate at NSU’s College of Pharmacy was selected to attend the 2015 National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) groundbreaking event on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., that will include more than 300 advocates from across the nation. The purpose of this program is to educate members of Congress about the importance of pro-patient, pro-pharmacy policy and key issues related to health care reform. Participants will discuss the importance of how an “issue of the day” impacts the pharmacy community. While meeting with members of Congress, students will discuss important issues and demonstrate the dedication of pharmacy students to advancing pharmacy and quality patient services. It is important that Capitol Hill understands pharmacy and welcomes the positions of pharmacy professionals on important health policy issues.
