NSU College of Pharmacy Supports Women Volleyball Team on Dig Pink Night
NSU’s College of Pharmacy (COP) recently hosted its 8th annual Athletics Family Night supporting NSU’s Athletics Dig Pink Night for the women’s volleyball game against Tampa. NSU’s COP was recognized throughout the evening for supporting breast cancer awareness and in honor of American Pharmacist Month (October).
NSU’s COP is actively involved in efforts to make discoveries to help treat and prevent breast cancer, through research conducted by Jean Latimer, Ph.D., and her team, and Appu Rathinavelu, Ph.D., and his team at NSU’s Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research, which is supported by the Royal Dames of Cancer Research, Inc.
Lisa Deziel, Ph.D., Pharm.D., dean, accepted the game ball on behalf of NSU’s COP, from the head coaches and student-athlete Dana Holger, who plans to pursue a pharmacy degree at NSU.
Special thanks and appreciation for the “think pink” T-shirts provided by Moe’s and the wonderful meal provided by annual COP Athletics Night sponsor Pizza Loft!
