NSU College of Dental Medicine Faculty Published in Prestigious Journal
NSU College of Dental Medicine faculty members Ines Velez, D.D.S., M.S.; Neil Spielholz, P.T., Ph.D.; Michael A. Siegel, D.D.S., M.S.; and Tulia Gonzalez, D.D.S., recently were published in the Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology Journal. The article was titled “MuGard, an oral mucoadhesive hydrogel, reduces the signs and symptoms of oral mucositis in patients with lichen planus: a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled pilot study.”
The study found that MuGard® mouthwash has a statistically significant improvement in oral ulcerations and pain, and the changes in pain were closely related to the health of the ulcers.
