NSU Cell Therapy Institute Publishes Key Findings in Three Leading Scientific Journals

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is proud to announce that esteemed researchers from the NSU Cell Therapy Institute have recently had three articles published in leading peer-review scientific journals covering key discoveries and findings in the areas of cancer immunotherapy and stem cell research.  The NSU Cell Therapy Institute is an international collaboration with prominent medical research scientists from Sweden’s world-renowned Karolinska Institutet (KI).  KI is globally recognized for its Nobel Assembly, which awards the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine annually.

These articles with NSU Cell Therapy Institute credited-authorship in order of most recent publication include:

  • Natural Killer Cell-Based Therapies Targeting Cancer: Possible Strategies to Gain and Sustain Anti-Tumor Activity,” Frontiers in Immunology (November 30, 2015).  Lead author, Evren Alici, M.D., Ph.D., visiting research professor at the NSU Cell Therapy Institute, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Cell and Gene Therapy Group, Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge.  Co-senior author, Adil Duru, Ph.D., assistant professor at the NSU Cell Therapy Institute.  Co-senior author, Carin Dahlberg, Ph.D., NSU Cell Therapy Institute.  Co-senior author, Michael Chrobok, Ph.D., NSU Cell Therapy Institute.

These important research programs will be advanced at NSU’s soon-to-be-completed, 215,000 sq. ft. Center for Collaborative Research (CCR), one of the largest and most advanced research facilities in Florida, with state-of-the-art laboratories.
