Black History Month Events Conclude Feb. 29

NSU’s celebration of Black History Month concludes this week with the following events:

Wednesday, February 29

Sharkey’s Storytime Fun: M is for Motown Music, 10:30-11:30 am
The Alvin Sherman Library will host this children’s event (for all ages with caregiver). Celebrate Black History month with books by your favorite African-American authors and sing along to Motown hits with singer/librarian Miss Rebecca! Location: Sherman Library. Call 954-262-5477.

Awards Ceremony: Outstanding Black Female Teachers, 10 am
This event will honor three outstanding black female teachers selected from area public schools.  The honorees and their principals will be the guests of honor and the event is open to the public. Sponsored by the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education. Celebrate Black History Month with NSU students & Urban League of Broward County Young Professionals Network, 6:30-8:30 pm
The event will include a viewing of the 30-minute Florida Humanities Council documentary, “”Choosing Your Future;” a panel discussion on being “Young & Urban in South Florida;” and concludes with a Question & Answer session. Co-sponsored by the Graduate Business Student Association at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship. Free and open to the public.
