NSU Baseball Selected to Finish Second In SSC
The Nova Southeastern University baseball team has was selected to finish second in the Sunshine State Conference this coming year. The Tampa Spartans were the unanimous pick to finish atop the SSC after winning the 2015 National Championship.
The Sharks made waves in 2015, winning the Sunshine State Conference after being voted 5th in the 2015 SSC Preseason Poll. NSU returns it’s ace from last year, Alex Mateo, as well as shortstop Dylan Woods, outfielder Antonio Rodriguez, catcher Michael Hernandez and closer Devin Raftery. The Sharks added LSU transfer Danny Zardon, Wabash Valley Community College transfer Kevin Suarez, Florida State College transfer Brandon Gomez, University of Miami transfer Sebastian Diaz and the 2015 Florida JuCo Defensive Player of the Year JanCarlos Cintron-Torres.
The Sharks will open up with Tusculum on January 29, followed by Newberry and the 2015 NCAA Division II runner-up Catawba Indians on January 30 and January 31, respectively.
