NSU Assistant Rowing Coach Selected to Attend Pocock Coach-Con

Nova Southeastern University rowing assistant coach Devin Fay has been selected to attend the 2015 Pocock Coach-Con

Devin Fay has been selected to attend the 2015 Pocock Coach-Con

Nova Southeastern University rowing assistant coach Devin Fay has been selected to attend the 2015 Pocock Coach-Con held in Everett, Washington, just north of Seattle, from June 22-24.

The convention, held for assistant rowing coaches, will be attended by 12 selected coaches out of over 50 applicants. The convention, in its fourth year, is held outside the Pocock Racing Shells Shop in Seattle.

“I am proud to have been selected to represent NSU and Division II rowing at this incredible opportunity,” said Fay. “The Pocock Racing Shells company has done a lot to support women’s rowing and I am excited to learn more about the sport, as well as boat maintenance and rigging. One of the best ways to learn about coaching is to be in an environment where others of similar ability are asking questions and there is an honest give-and-take of information. I am definitely looking forward to this experience and eager to bring the knowledge back to NSU.”

The headlining guest speaker for the three day event is Syracuse rowing head coach Justin Moore. Other topics during the convention include: The Physics of Rowing, Optimizing Rig and Equipment Selection, Shell Repair, Driving a Trailer and Boat Construction
