Art Talk: War Horses: Helhesten and The Danish Avant-Garde during World War II
Kerry Greaves on A New Realism: Abstraction and Nationalism in Denmark during World War II
Kerry Greaves received her PhD from the City University of New York Graduate Center; her dissertation focused on the Danish avant-garde from 1934 to 1946. Currently based at the University of Copenhagen, she is researching the history of Danish art collectives. As the curator of the Museum’s exhibition War Horses: Helhesten and The Danish Avant-Garde during World War II, Greaves’ talk will explore what experiments mean to the development of modern art and our evolving understanding of war.
