NSU Appoints Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson Vice President for Advancement and Community Relations
Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., has been appointed Vice President for Advancement and Community Relations at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) effective Aug. 1. The announcement was made by NSU President and CEO George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D.
In this new position, O’Flannery Anderson will provide leadership for the University’s Offices of Advancement, University Relations, and Governmental and Community Affairs. She will be responsible for the University’s efforts for community engagement and support, including all advancement, fundraising activities, alumni relations, communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, governmental and community relations. She will report directly to President Hanbury.
“Dr. O’Flannery Anderson brings a wealth of fundraising and marketing communications experience to NSU,” said Hanbury. “Her community involvement and leadership will be instrumental in helping the university reach its strategic goals.”
O’Flannery Anderson joins NSU from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) where she currently is Vice President for Community Engagement and Executive Director of the FAU Foundation. Previously, she was President and CEO of the United Way of Broward County.
“It is truly a privilege and a pleasure to join Nova Southeastern University and lead the University’s advancement, community and communications efforts,” said O’Flannery Anderson. “I know first-hand the strong commitment NSU has for its students to excel through exceptional learning experiences and for serving this community.”
O’Flannery Anderson is involved in numerous community initiatives and organizations. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the North Broward Hospital District, is a board member for PACE Center for Girls, and is a member of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches. She has been involved in numerous community initiatives such as serving on the boards of United Way of Florida and Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. She is a graduate of both Leadership Florida and Leadership Broward.
O’Flannery Anderson received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University; her master’s degree from the University of South Florida; and her doctoral degree from Florida Atlantic University.
She resides in Fort Lauderdale, with her husband, Peter Anderson.
