NSU Alumni Spotlight: T. Patrick Quinn, Ph.D.
T. Patrick Quinn, M.S. (’96) and Ph.D. (’10), is a natural resource specialist III for Broward County Natural Resources Planning and Management Division, Marine Resources Section, where he is responsible for the management of Broward County’s Manatee Protection Plan and Sea Turtle Conservation Program International Coastal Cleanup. He is also project manager for efforts to remove a failed artificial reef constructed of tires, surveys and monitoring of the coral and fish communities, assessment of damage from ships and anchors, development and deployment of artificial reefs, and assisting in county-wide beach nourishment projects.
Quinn was awarded the Broward County Shining Star Award and Student of the Year for NSU’s Oceanographic Center in 2006. He is a board member of the South Florida Resource Conservation and Development Council and an adult leader for Boy Scout Troop 111.
