Robert T. Hasty, D.O., FACOI, FACP (’00), who previously served as associate dean for postgraduate affairs at the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina, has been named as founding dean and chief academic officer for Montana’s first medical school—the Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine. Hasty will assume his new position on February 10, 2016.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the founding dean for Montana’s first medical school,” Hasty said. “We will train expert and caring physicians that will help transform the future of health care in Montana and the contiguous states by improving the patient experience, increasing access, and improving value.”

The Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine will be privately funded and operated, but will have an affiliation with Montana State University (MSU) and be located on MSU’s Innovation Campus in Bozeman.
