Nova Speaker’s Forum Hosted by Dr. Larry A. Calderon, August 26
Linda Maurice, director of the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at Nova Southeastern, will be the featured speaker at the Nova Southeastern University’s Speaker’s Forum on Friday, Aug. 26. She will talk about the lifelong learning at the LLI. What is lifelong learning? Why is it important for all of us to be engaged in challenging our minds as we grow older? How has the approach to learning in our later years changed over the years? This lecture will cover these topics and introduce attendees to the LLI – its history, mission, and curriculum.
Maurice is a former television news producer who has worked for news organizations in New York, Washington and Jerusalem including: NBC, CNN, CBC, The Jerusalem Post, and The Jerusalem Report. Since moving to South Florida in 2000, she has worked in public relations and teaches media education classes to youth and adults. She joined the LLI in 2007 as a community relations manager.
