Nova Southeastern University’s Commencement Season is Here

It’s commencement season, a time for graduates across the nation to reflect and celebrate the culmination of years of studying, testing and hard work.

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will host more than 7,000 graduates during its 2018 commencement ceremonies on its Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus in the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center (3301 College Ave., Fort Lauderdale).

The first celebration of academic achievement begins Thursday, May 10 for students at NSU’s Shepard Broad College of Law. The last ceremony will be held Friday, Aug. 17 for graduate students of NSU’s Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing and Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences. Ceremony participants represent students from NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus, regional campuses and online. For a complete list of commencement ceremonies by date and additional information, please visit the NSU Commencement home page.

NSU will award baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees to students in a wide range of fields including business, counseling, computer and information sciences, education, osteopathic medicine, optometry, pharmacy, dentistry, various other health professions, law, marine sciences, psychology, human services and other social sciences.

Over the next few weeks, students, alumni, faculty, staff and guests will hear commencement addresses from inspirational speakers* such as:

John T. Berry, J.D., Director of The Florida Bar’s Legal Divisions (Thursday, May 10)
Seth Siegel, J.D., entrepreneur, activist and New York Times bestselling author (Friday, May 18)
Mark Templeton, former President and CEO of Citrix Systems, Inc. (Friday, June 8)

Tickets are not required, but seating is limited and large groups of guests wishing to sit together should arrive early.

Commencement guests will also have the opportunity to view a live telecast of the ceremony via closed circuit television at three on-campus locations. All NSU Commencement ceremonies will also be live-streamed online in real time. Visit the NSU Commencement home page for information and access.

NSU’s Don Taft University Center provides disabled-accessible parking spaces on each level of the public parking garage. Golf carts will be in operation before and after the ceremony to assist with transportation of special-needs guests from the parking garage to the Rick Case Arena. Commencement guests using wheelchairs can enter and exit the Rick Case Arena through either the north or east lobbies of the venue.
