Nova Southeastern University Wins National Award for PR/Marketing
Nova Southeastern University’s Brand campaign is paying off in more ways than one. The university’s campaign emerged victorious last week, earning the prestigious Silver Anvil Award, which recognizes excellence in Public Relations. The annual event honors organizations that have successfully addressed a contemporary public relations issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. Entries are evaluated on their strategic nature of public relations programs using four components — research, planning, execution and evaluation.
Brandon L. Hensler, M.S., APR, executive director of University Relations, accepted the award for NSU at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) 2016 Silver Anvil Awards Ceremony, held in New York City on June 9, 2016.
Nova Southeastern University, and its marketing and advertising agency, Fahlgren Mortine, were recognized in the category, Marketing-Consumer Services-Other, for “Moving Future College Freshmen to Consider One of America’s Largest – But Unknown – Private Research Universities.” Runners up in the category included Coldwell Banker and Rally Point for their national campaigns. Other category winners included Michelin: Beyond the Driving Test; Air Force Public Affairs: Helping a Hero; The Home Depot: Creating Independence at Home for U.S. Veterans; Rotary International: End Polio Now; and Arby’s®: Last Laugh with Jon Stewart, among others.
Chartered in 1947, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the world’s largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals with more than 22,000 public relations and communications professionals, in addition to more than 10,000 university and college students through the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
