Ida Nordstrom named SSC Defensive Player of the Week
After helping extend 20th-ranked Nova Southeastern’s unbeaten streak to eight games, goalkeeper Ida Norstrom has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
During a pair of difficult SSC matchups, Norstrom guided the Sharks to a strong 1-0-1 record against Florida Tech and No. 8 Rollins. The Panthers entered Wednesday’s contest coming off a 2-1 win over previously top-ranked, and three-time defending national champion Grand Valley State, yet were held scoreless thanks to five saves by the freshman keeper. The shutout marked Norstrom’s fourth consecutive at home this season.
